10-Week Hispanic Leadership Program in Pinal County
The Pinal Hispanic Leadership Institute program spans 10 weeks from September to November, meeting in different locations across the county each week. You'll build the qualifications to serve on nonprofit boards, government commissions, and leadership councils where Pinal County's future takes shape. This mobile format exposes you to the distinct realities facing communities from Casa Grande to Florence.
Since founding HLI in 1986, Valle del Sol has focused on expanding Latino civic power statewide. HLI Pinal brings Arizona's leading business, education, and government policy experts into direct conversation with you. You'll connect with 2,000+ HLI alumni leading across every sector while developing deep knowledge of how decisions get made in Pinal County.
Who Belongs in Pinal's Leadership Program

- Participants must attend a mandatory Leadership Institute retreat—date and time to be confirmed.

Building Your Leadership, Building Pinal's Future
HLI Pinal's 10-week curriculum incorporates your voice and experiences into every session. You engage with Arizona's top business and policy authorities in ongoing dialogue about leadership and issues that matter most to the Hispanic community. The program travels to multiple locations across Pinal County, ensuring you see firsthand how different communities navigate growth, resource allocation, and representation challenges.
You develop skills in board governance, strategic thinking, and public advocacy while examining the systems that determine who holds power in Pinal County. The curriculum builds from where you are now, emphasizing professional and personal development with a practical business and community orientation.

How to Apply to Our Pinal County Leadership Program
Applications open in June and close in August, with the program starting in September. We select participants who demonstrate commitment to community change and readiness to take on leadership roles. Your 30-minute interview focuses on your leadership aspirations and how you plan to serve Pinal County.
Here’s what’s included in the application process:
- Completed Online Application: Write your responses offline, then transfer them into the online form for complete reflection.
- Letter of Recommendation: One letter from someone familiar with your leadership abilities and community involvement.
- Current Resume: Detail your professional background and community engagement.
- Interview Participation: A 30-minute discussion about your goals and vision for Pinal County.
Participation costs $550, covering all 10 weekly sessions, program materials, retreat experience, and access to our statewide alumni network. All participants must attend the mandatory Leadership Institute retreat, with the date and time confirmed upon acceptance. This investment opens doors to board positions, community influence, and a network of changemakers across Arizona.
